MY RECENT WORK

Kids Were Here | August 2013

I’ve just got to say…

I’m totally enamored with this project.

It is forcing me to stop and appreciate all the little reminders that there is a little person in the house. Not that I could easily forget…the kid doesn’t come with an off switch, so our house is filled with constant jabbering and giggling and the sound of little feet running across the hardwood floors.

Which I guess is why this project is so meaningful.

One day the jabbering will turn into moody teenage silence, the giggling will become talking back and the pitter patter of little feet will be replaced by the sound of heavy, size 9 shoes thumping around. But these photographs of the little messes — the toys strewn all over the coffee table, a defunct sprinkler forgotten in the grass, a pile of letters on the floor and their home container on a windowsill three rooms over — will be a reminder of the happy little chaos that we live in today.

Time flies by so, so quickly.

Also, why are there always toys on our stairs? Why?!

Now you need to click on over to the Trenity’s blog for her Kids Were Here images for August.

I love these!! I think my favorite is the ball in the grass. The contrast between the two is amazing!ReplyCancel

Rebecca, I gotta agree with Cynthia, the ball was my favourite. The smooth and hard surface vs. the soft and green grass :). And stairs – I got that issue at home too! Must be the levels they enjoy!ReplyCancel

I too gasped at the ball in the grass. The contrast is beautiful. But my favorite is the last one. The light, the colors, the reflection. I love it. I could print it and hang it in my boys’ room. Thanks for sharing!ReplyCancel
